La tournée n'avait en fait
pas de nom,
mais comme elle eut lieu
dans les années 'Bodyguard', le public et certains CDs lives non officiels
l'appellent le 'Bodyguard Tour'. Cette gigantesque
tournée commença
par les Etats-Unis pendant l'été 1993. Elle se trouvait en
Europe en automne, passant par la France pour deux concerts
à Paris-Bercy, les 29 et
30 novembre 1993
(le show du 30 nov. était
le dernier de la tournée européenne).
La tournée reprit
en 1994, avec des dates supplémentaires aux USA, et des concerts
en Amerique du Sud et au Japon, notamment. La tournée mondiale prit
fin en novembre 1994 avec trois concerts en
Afrique du Sud.
La liste des chansons
incluait les plus grands tubes des trois premiers albums, ainsi que les
célèbres chansons de 'Bodyguard', notamment 'I Will Always Love You'

INFOS INTERESSANTES:
Comme d'habitude, la tournée alla au Japon et en Europe en plus des
USA et du Canada, mais aussi dans plusieurs pays d'Amérique du Sud (Argentine,
Brésil, Chili, Venezuela) et en Afrique du Sud. Elle s'étala sur plus
d'un an, de l'été 1993 à l'automne 1994.
Le 16 septembre 1994, Whitney écrivit une
nouvelle page de l'histoire de la musique en commençant
le premier de septs concerts à guichets fermés
au Radio City Music Hall de New York.
Le 17 juilet 1994, Whitney chanta un medley de ses tubes
lors de la finale de la Coupe du Monde de football qui avait
lieu cette année aux USA. Elle chanta en direct
du stade Rose Bowl de Pasadena en Californie un medley de
"I Wanna Dance With Somebody", So Emotional", "I Will Always Love You",
"I'm Every Woman", "How Will I Know" et "Greatest Love Of All".
L'évènement ne fut pas retransmis aux USA
mais un public
d'environs 1,8 milliard de téléspectateurs
eut la possibilité de le voir
Whitney termina la tournée par trois énormes concerts
en Afrique du Sud en novembre 1994 (le 8 à Durban,
le 12 à
Johannesburg,
et le 19 à Capetown),
sur l'invitation du President Nelson Mandela,
pour célébrer la fin de l'apartheid en Afrique du Sud.
Le show du 12 novembre fut retransmis en direct à la TV
par HBO aux USA, et dans de nombreux pays du monde.
Rien qu'en Afrique du Sud, Whitney chanta pour environs 200 000 personnes.
